Public Policy Alert: New ACA Coverage Requirement: Interventions to Prevent Perinatal Depression
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force issued a new recommendation that that clinicians provide or refer pregnant and postpartum persons who are at increased risk of perinatal depression to counseling interventions. Non-grandfathered group health plans must cover this service, without cost-sharing, effective for plan years beginning on or after February 28, 2020 (January 1, 2021 for calendar year plans).
