Marijuana Considerations for Employers Issue Brief
Medical and recreational marijuana remain illegal on the federal level, but 46 states and the District of Columbia have legalized some form of it. As public perception of marijuana use evolves and FDA approved marijuana-derived medications enter the market, employers may want to consider their strategy for coverage, drug testing, and mental and behavioral supports related to the drug.

Coverage for Group and Couples Therapy
The purpose of this survey was to learn whether other employers cover group and/or couples therapy either through the health plan or the employee assistance program (EAP). Furthermore, the survey looks at what restrictions are in place, eligibility requirements and whether coverage extends to other family members who are not on the health plan. Forty-three members of the Business Group responded to this survey, although the number may vary from question to question.

Evidence-Based Approaches to Substance Use Disorder (Addiction) Treatment
Substance use disorder (SUD) is a growing concern for employers for several reasons, including the opioid epidemic, concerns about fraud, out-of-network costs, and the huge impact it has on employee health and productivity. Only 10% of people with SUD receive medical treatment for their condition and stigma remains a serious concern. Employers have several strategies available to increase the chances their employees avoid SUD, and receive appropriate treatment to overcome this chronic disease.
