Fertility difficulties affect 1 in 6 couples globally. What comes as a surprise to many is that nearly half of these cases are related to male factors. However, due to several barriers including social attitudes and misconceptions, many men do not seek reproductive health care or even know there may be an issue. In recent years, we’ve seen increased awareness of topics related to women’s reproductive health, begging the question: will we see a similar boom for men’s reproductive health?

On this episode of the Business Group on Health podcast, we speak with Dr. Joseph Alukal, a leading clinician and researcher. Dr. Alukal sets the stage for how we can open the dialogue about men’s health through better understanding when and where to seek reproductive care
