Business Group on Health Podcast Wins Top Honors

Episodes on Suicide Prevention, Climate Change, LGBTQ Allyship, Sleep Loss Receive Prestigious Communicator Awards

WASHINGTON, DC, May 10 — The Business Group on Health Podcast earned prestigious awards for four episodes, on topics ranging from suicide prevention to climate change, the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA) has announced.

The honors, known as the 29th Annual Communicator Awards, were given to the Business Group in the categories of science and medicine; diversity, equity and inclusion; and health and fitness.

The annual competition, judged by AIVA, honors the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and design. This year, more than 3,000 entries were submitted from around the globe.

“Business Group on Health is thrilled to win The Communicator Awards, for the second year in a row,” said Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO of the Business Group, who is one of the hosts of the podcast. “Our podcast both explores and amplifies the most pressing issues of our time, particularly as they affect health, well-being and workforce issues relevant to large employers.”

The podcast, launched in June 2020, is co-hosted by Vice President LuAnn Heinen and produced by Vice President Pam Kalen and Vice President Pamela Rich in partnership with Connected Social Media.

Award of Excellence (Category – Individual Episodes: Science and Medicine)

Award of Distinction (Category – Individual Episodes: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)

Demonstrating LGBTQ Allyship Through Inclusive and Equitable Workplaces,” Raina Nelson, senior manager, Workplace Equality Program, Human Rights Campaign, and Joy Wilson, member of the Human Rights Campaign’s Parents for Transgender Equality National Council, in conversation with Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO, Business Group on Health, air date Sept. 19, 2022.

Award of Distinction (Category – Individual Episodes: Health and Fitness)

The Social and Emotional Tax of Sleep Loss,” Eti Ben Simon, PhD, Center for Human Sleep Science, Department of Psychology, University of California, Berkeley, in conversation with LuAnn Heinen, vice president, Business Group on Health, air date April 18, 2022.
