Business Group on Health Contributes to Amicus Brief in Legal Challenge to Surprise Billing Provisions

The Business Group joined employer plan sponsor and other stakeholders in filing an amicus brief in legal case challenging surprise medical billing provisions of the No Surprises Act.

Business Group on Health joined other stakeholder organizations representing employer plan sponsors, human resources professionals, and insurance plans in filing an amicus brief related to Texas Medical Association, et al. v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, et al. challenging the surprise medical billing provisions of the No Surprises Act under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. This case is the third of multiple legal challenges filed by the Texas Medical Association TMA) and commonly referred to as the “TMA III” case.
