Business Group on Health Podcast Wins Top Accolades

Episodes on Health Literacy, the Impact of Mindset on Health, Doulas Receive Prestigious Communicator Awards

WASHINGTON, DC, May 20 — The Business Group on Health Podcast earned prestigious awards for four episodes, on topics ranging from health literacy to doulas, the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA) has announced.

The honors, known as the 30th Annual Communicator Awards, were given to the Business Group in the categories of health and fitness; corporate communications; diversity, equity and inclusion; and science and medicine.

The annual competition, judged by AIVA, recognizes the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and design. More than 3,000 entries were submitted this year.

“For the third year in a row, the Business Group on Health Podcast has won The Communicator Awards,” said Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO of the Business Group and one of the podcast hosts. “Our podcast fuels a broader, global conversation about large employers and the critical health, well-being and workforce issues they face.”

The podcast, launched in June 2020, is co-hosted by LuAnn Heinen and produced by Vice President Pamela Rich, in partnership with Connected Social Media.

Award of Excellence (Category – Individual Episodes: Health and Fitness)

Award of Excellence (Category – Individual Episodes: Corporate Communication)

"Why the Message and Messenger Matter: Improving Health Literacy with Dr. Lisa Fitzpatrick,” Dr. Lisa Fitzpatrick, MD, founder and CEO, Grapevine Health, in conversation with Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO, Business Group on Health, air date April 28, 2023.

Award of Distinction (Category – Individual Episodes: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)

The Crucial Role of Doulas for Black Birthing Parents,” Tracie Collins, CEO and founder, National Black Doulas Association, and Nancy Jester, senior manager of Physical and Emotional Well-Being, Walmart Inc., in conversation with Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO, Business Group on Health, air date February 27, 2023.

Award of Distinction (Category – Individual Episodes: Science and Medicine)

Transforming the End-of-Life Experience with Death Doulas,” Alua Arthur, founder, Going with Grace, in conversation with LuAnn Heinen, air date March 13, 2023.
