Updated Travelers' Health Information - 10/15/07

With the busy holiday travel season approaching, review international traveling risks and health concerns with employees.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released its bi-yearly publication, CDC Health Information for International Travel 2008 (also known as The Yellow Book). The Yellow Book is a reference book for travelers. It provides information about the potential health risks faced when traveling abroad. While it is written for health care providers, employers may find the publication useful. Topics addressed include recommended vaccinations, advice for humanitarian aid workers, etc.

New additions to this year's publication are:
  • Updated Yellow Fever requirements and recommendations.
  • Prevalence maps of tuberculosis, hepatitis B and HIV infections.
  • Influenza section with information about avian and pandemic influenza.
