2010 Awards ProgramThe Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award acknowledges and rewards organizations advancing creative and comprehensive solutions to improve employee health, productivity and well-being. What's New?
ConfidentialityThe National Business Group on Health takes steps to protect company information provided in the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles applications. The Business Group intends for company-specific data and information about company programs to be used for judging purposes only; judges agree to this before reviewing applications. Identified information (naming company programs) may not be shared without the consent of the applying company. EligibilityThe Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award is open exclusively to members of the National Business Group on Health. Application EvaluationMultiple reviewers with relevant experience will be assigned to each application. Levels of AchievementPlatinum: Award reserved for organizations with mature "healthy weight, healthy lifestyles" programs and cultures. Financial and/or non-financial measures of program performance are defined and results are reported. If ROI is a stated metric, the results of the analysis are required with methods and assumptions explained. Programs have been fully operational for a minimum of 3 — 5 years and continue to innovate and improve based on analysis of their own data and experience. Case studies must accompany Platinum applications (see "Addendum: Case Study Template"). Gold: Awarded to organizations that are creating cultural and environmental changes to support employees who are making a commitment to long-term behavioral change. Healthy dining and physical activity are thoroughly addressed. A variety of communication channels, programs and incentives reach employees (and families) throughout the organization; all Silver requirements have been met. Silver: Awarded to organizations that have obtained high-level executive support; selected a dedicated steering committee or team to advance initiatives; undertaken health risk assessment or claims analyses to capture population-specific data, and launched programs or services supporting healthy weight, healthy lifestyles. Part I — Program summary - Describe the key elements, innovative features and effective practices of your program. Part II — Structure/Strategy - What is your company's "game plan" to encourage healthy lifestyles for employees and families? Part III — Communications - Describe your communication channels and messages. Part IV — Healthy Environment - Describe programs to improve healthy dining and increase physical activity. Part V — Health Assessment (HA)/Benefits - How is the HA used to guide your program? How does your plan design support wellness? Part VI — Results and Outcomes - What results and outcomes can you demonstrate?
