2013 Awards Program

The highly coveted Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award program recognizes the best workplace well-being programs for employees and their families in the U.S. and globally. The main objectives of the award program are to promote external and internal recognition of best practices and programs and provide opportunities for sharing and comparing interventions, outcomes and success strategies. Award-winning programs are comprehensive, achieve strong levels of engagement and improve health outcomes of employees and their families.

The program, now in its ninth year, is a proven standard for acknowledging employee wellness programs and companies that are making health and wellness a top priority. Since the first awards in 2005, the program has continuously evolved, reflecting the tremendous growth change within the corporate wellness field. The Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award program has recognized 140 U.S. corporations and 391 employee health and well-being programs for their ongoing commitment to promoting healthy work environments.

The goal of the program is to continuously recognize mature, dynamic and innovative programs with measurable results. This year the Business Group will limit the number of winners to 50 or less—to ensure that only those companies that best reflect the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® standard of excellence are recognized.

What's new?

Change for Global Distinction Applicants: Applicants that are interested in applying for Global Distinction recognition are no longer required to apply for and win a Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award.

Evaluation Summary: Interested applicants must notify the Business Group via email, bestemployers@businessgroup health.org, if they wish to receive an evaluation summary report. Please note that reports will not be available for distribution until May 6th.
