2014 Awards Program
The coveted Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award program recognizes the best workplace well-being programs for employees and their families in the U.S. and globally. The main objectives of the award program are to promote external and internal recognition of best practices and programs and provide opportunities for sharing and comparing interventions, outcomes and success strategies. Award-winning programs are comprehensive, achieve strong levels of engagement and improve health outcomes for employees and their families.
Ten years ago, the Institute on Innovation in Workforce Well-being, formerly the Institute on the Costs and Health Effects of Obesity, created a Report Card focused on building a healthy culture, eating good food at work, valuing physical activity, coordinating resources and communications and rethinking benefit design. The first awards were presented in 2005 to 22 companies for combating obesity and promoting healthy workplaces. The program has continuously evolved over the last ten years, reflecting the tremendous growth and change within the corporate wellness field.
