Communication Tool Kit: Promoting Healthy Weight Through Healthy Lifestyles
The National Business Group on Health's Institute on the Costs and Health Effects of Obesity strives to provide members with practical, smart solutions for addressing the sensitive issue of overweight and obesity with employees. This Tool Kit provides a basis for opening the lines of communication by focusing on improving health, rather than on losing weight.
In the Tool Kit you will find materials that are designed to be customized so employees can better relate to costs and health effects in ways that are personally meaningful. Topics include health risk assessments, cafeteria and vending machine improvements, nutrition and exercise recommendations, summaries from the "Surgeon General's Call to Action to Prevent and Decrease Overweight and Obesity," and much more. There are seven sections included (Using the Communication Toolkit, Strategy, Glossary, Employee Letters, Frequently Asked Questions, Fact Sheets, PowerPoint Presentation, Employee Articles), and Prevention Series Articles.
