National Leadership Committee on Consumer Directed Health Care Work Groups

Consumerism Tools and Resources

The Consumerism Tools and Resources workgroup focuses on how to promote consumer interest in their health care and lifestyle choices. New tools and resources are being developed to inform consumers of health care issues and preventive care; workgroup members are looking into how they can be implemented into an employers plan design.

Objectives:

Examine the available support tools that influence individual health care decision making and employers' plan design.
Seek to inform consumers about preventive care, basic vocabulary and health literacy.
Look into Personal Health Records
