Pamela J. Kalen
Vice President, Membership and Member Services
Pamela Kalen joined the National Business Group on Health in January 2002. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the membership process including member recruitment and retention, innovations in member benefits and assuring that the organization continues to meet the needs of its members. She also has responsibility for the Business Group's communications activities. Kalen has over 25 years of experience in association management, corporate health care purchasing issues, integrated delivery, and a focus on practical solutions.
Prior to joining the Business Group, Kalen served for seven years as the Executive Director of the Employers' Managed Health Care Association (MHCA), an organization which was dedicated to fostering collaboration and sharing best practices in developing practical solutions for employer based health care purchasing where she was responsible for all areas of association management. Previously, Pam also served for seven years as Director of Membership and Planning for the principal trade association for the managed care industry, the Group Health Association of America, now known as the America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Before Pam held several health care marketing positions with consulting firms and health plans.
Kalen currently represents the Business Group on NCQA's Purchaser Advisory Council. She received her MBA in Marketing and Bachelor's of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland.
