Dannel Dan
Analyst, Benchmarking and Analysis

Dannel Dan joined the National Business Group on Health in September of 2007 as the Analyst of Benchmarking and Analysis. He supports the collection, analysis and reporting of health care data and large employers' best practices. Dan also tracks developing benefits trends such as hospital geographic variations and global medical tourism.

Prior to joining the Business Group, Dan was the Private Payer Analyst in the Government Affairs department of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). He specialized in private health insurance, particularly initiatives in pay for performance, imaging and administrative simplification, to facilitate provider-payer relations.

Before working at MGMA, Dan was an Outcomes Research Associate at Pfizer in the city of New York. He examined national population databases and quality of care indicators based on race, gender and age to report on cancer health disparities.

Dan holds a Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Policy and Management, from Columbia University in New York. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Social Policy from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.
