James A. Curcio Senior Consultant, National Business Group on Health
Jim currently serves as a Senior Consultant for the National Business Group on Health (The Business Group), headquartered in Washington, DC. His work with the Business Group includes consultation to their new Institute on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital on: the industry-leading Employer Measures of Productivity, Absence and QualtityTM (EMPAQ®) initiative; their annual National Conference on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital; and, various fund-raising projects for the Institute.
Jim joined the Business Group from Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., with an extensive background in human resources and risk management, integrated disability management (IDM) and total absence & productivity management. At Sedgwick, Jim served as their IDM National Practice Leader, as the operations and program manager of a large national dedicated IDM Unit and as a resource in working with large disability operations for clients.
Prior to Sedgwick CMS, Jim led various cross-functional risk management, human resource, benefit management, and information systems projects for Ascension Health, the nation's largest non-profit healthcare organization. Jim has also held similar leadership roles for two Fortune 250 manufacturing organizations.
Overall, programs that Jim has designed, implemented and/or led have won acclaim and recognition by "Risk and Insurance", "Business Insurance," "RehabPro"; and "Business & Health" Magazines; BNA's Workers' Compensation Report; California's Workers' Comp Advisor; Ohio's Workers' Comp Advisor; and, OSHA's Region VIII as Outstanding and "Best in Class" among Colorado employers.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Human Resources and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), both from the University of Colorado.
